Kokelscheur, a place I will always associate to my childhood. My dad would take me and my sister ice-skating there. It became our little Sunday afternoon tradition. I must admit, the last years I have only skated occasionally, in different Christmas Markets for instance.
Let’s come back to the present. On Sunday evening, I was invited to the Petit Gala de la Coupe du Prinemps du Luxembourg by Katzard. The show started at 18h30 and left me in awe. I was absolutely amazed by the talented, mostly young, ice-skaters. I have always admired ice-skating and it was exciting to see a live show instead of a television show. It’s just amazing what dedicated and hardworking people can do with their bodies.
The shimmering clothes, the graceful movements, the risks, the passion, the art…just breathtakingly beautiful.
After the one-hour show came the fun part. I observed how the ice rink transformed into a “ice-dance-floor”. A jazz band was playing, drinks were served and people were ice-skating. It looked like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I had to leave and could not join in this activity.
I do hope that the Gala also takes place next year. It is a nice way to show the amazing talents and to have a nice icy evening.
And here are some pictures of the evening:
